Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon for the next Dew Review. I’m rather enjoying it and look forward to the rest of the 12 pack. So, yeah, a fruit punch soda that’s not quite as in-your-face. It’s a sipping soda as opposed to a chugging one, I guess I’m trying to say. It’s not just a huge whallop of tongue-numbing flavor, but much more sedate. I don’t know if anybody outside of a beverage blending lab knows what all fruit flavors go into making the ubiquitous flavor that is “fruit punch.” It’s like… what is the flavor of bubblegum besides just saying “bubblegum”? I will say that, like how Baja Blast is actually slightly milder in its tongue-hitting punch than some other Dews, this one is the same way. Both inspired by Taco Bells MTN DEW Baja Blast, both new additions serve as the foundation for the sodas 100 Days of Baja promotion, where DEW drinkers can redeem codes for various prizes. Though, it’s hard to say that any particular fruit stands out enough to really be identifiable. ![]() So, it’s a mix of various fruity flavors. Taking a sip, it tastes… like fruit punch. Also, unlike many of the Dew varieties (their Kickstart, Game Fuel, and Rise Energy lines), this doesn’t have any juice in it. Though the label lists it as having natural an artificial flavors (as does the back of the can in the ingredients), it doesn’t say what those flavors specifically are. ![]() It’s still recognizable as fruit punch, though. It also has a milder scent than a lot of Dews have. It does still have Red 40, though, so none for the aforementioned Andifox. So, obviously the first thing to notice is that the drink is more peach-colored than the usual extreme-red of most tropical punch flavors. How will this one hold up? To find out, first we need to get to the pour.Īh yes, my favorite Dew-drinking glass. It’s usually bright red, and is big and bold with its flavor. It’s funny because just last week, I’d had a Kickstart Energizing Fruit Punch, not knowing that I was going to have these Dews to try now. Let’s get to it.īaja Punch is a Dew with, obviously, a Tropical Punch sort of flavor to it. ![]() Anyway, this morning, I’m trying out the first of the flavors, Baja Punch. Yeah, I currently have a large amount of sugar water on my counter. And thanks to Andifox, I was able to get a 12 pack of each of the new flavors (and had picked up a 12 pack of the original Baja because I like it). Would these flavors hold up? Well, I went in search for them. Now, I’ve loved Baja Blast since it first came out ( see review here). Combine the Mountain Dew, lemonade, cranberry juice, and sugar in a large pitcher. These would be spins on their Taco Bell exclusive, Baja Blast. Ingredients: 1 bottle of Mountain Dew 1 quart of lemonade 1 quart of cranberry juice 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of chopped fruit (optional) Instructions: 1. Y’all know I love me some new Dews to try out. Not long ago, I heard news that PepsiCo was coming out with two new Mountain Dew flavors.
